For your home · Sigenergy SigenStor
Sigenergy SigenStor installer for Birmingham and the West Midlands.
We supply, install and commission Sigenergy SigenStor systems. It is the system our engineers recommend most for a new solar-and-battery install: a hybrid inverter, stackable battery modules, backup and an optional EV charger in one unit, sized to the house and expandable later.
MCS-certified for battery storage and solar PV (NIC-600049) · We install across Birmingham, the Black Country, Worcestershire and Staffordshire from our base in Oldbury, and regularly travel 30 to 40 miles, Telford, Coventry, Shrewsbury and Stafford included. If you are on the edge of that, just ask.

Why our engineers rate it
Modular, so the system fits the house.
Most battery decisions go wrong at sizing: too small and the evening runs out, too big and the panels never fill it. SigenStor's stackable modules let us fit exactly what your usage needs now, two 5 kWh modules for a typical semi, three 8 kWh for a home with an EV, and add a module later if a heat pump or a second car arrives. Nothing is thrown away to upgrade.
The second reason is that it is one unit. The inverter, the battery, the backup switching and the optional EV DC charging module share a single enclosure and a single app, which means fewer boxes on the wall, fewer points of failure and one warranty conversation if anything ever needs attention.
We are honest about who it is not for. If you have a small roof and modest evening use, a single 5 kWh unit from another brand may be the better-value answer, and we will say so.

How a SigenStor install goes
Survey, G99, install, commission, aftercare.
Survey and model
An engineer surveys the roof, the consumer unit and where the unit will go, and models generation and evening use from your smart-meter data.
Design and fixed price
Module count, inverter size and backup circuits specified; one fixed price with the datasheet attached.
G99 application
A 5 or 6 kW inverter is above the 3.68 kW G98 limit, so we apply to your network operator before work starts and manage the timeline.
Install to PAS 63100
Battery installed to the domestic fire-safety specification BS 7671 A4:2026 requires, by NICEIC-registered engineers, usually in a day.
Commission and aftercare
Backup circuits, tariff settings and the mySigen app set up with you; warranty registered; we remain the people you call.
Regulatory facts on this page: A G98 connection covers up to 16 A, which is 3.68 kW, per phase and is notified to the network operator after installation; anything larger needs a G99 application before work starts. BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 (published 15 April 2026) adds Chapter 57 for battery installations and requires batteries in dwellings to be installed to PAS 63100:2024, the BSI fire-safety specification for domestic battery storage.

“Solar panels and battery does as it says on the tin. Harj looked after us from start to finish and was always on hand to explain or help us with anything with the product, even a year later. Panels and the equipment look good. I would recommend this company.”

Sigenergy questions, answered straight
Are you a certified Sigenergy installer?
We supply, install and commission Sigenergy SigenStor systems and we are MCS-certified for battery storage and solar PV (NIC-600049) through NICEIC, which is the certification that matters for your export tariff and your insurer. Sigenergy does not publish a separate UK installer list, so if a specific Sigenergy programme status matters to you, ask us and we will tell you exactly where we stand rather than put a badge on a web page.
How big can a SigenStor system go?
Battery modules come in 5 kWh and 8 kWh; a stack takes one to six modules, up to 30 kWh or 48 kWh depending on the module, and up to ten stacks can run in parallel, so the ceiling is far beyond any house. For a typical home we fit one stack of two or three modules, 10 to 24 kWh, and the modular design means you can add a module later without replacing anything.
Does SigenStor give me backup in a power cut?
Yes. Backup is built into the five-in-one unit with a 0 ms switchover, so the lights do not flicker. How long it lasts depends on the stored energy and what you run; we set up which circuits are backed up during commissioning.
Can it charge my electric car?
SigenStor has an optional EV DC charger module that charges the car directly from the battery and panels on DC, rather than through a separate AC wallbox. Whether that beats a conventional 7 kW charger depends on your car and how you drive; we will say which suits you.
What is the warranty?
The product warranty is 10 years. The terms are on the datasheet and your quote, and Green Tech Hub registers and supports the warranty as the installer; aftercare is a large part of what we do.
Which inverter size do I need, and does it need a G99?
Single-phase SigenStor inverters run from 3 kW to 12 kW and three-phase from 5 kW to 30 kW. Anything above 3.68 kW per phase needs a G99 application to your network operator before installation, which we submit; up to 3.68 kW is a G98 notification afterwards. Most homes end up on a 5 or 6 kW single-phase unit, so expect a G99.
