For your home · Aiko Neostar panels

Aiko Neostar solar panels, fitted by the engineers who chose them.

N-type ABC (all-back-contact) modules with no front-side busbars, the Neostar 2P54 running 450 to 485 W, with a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty. They are the panel we reach for when a roof is tight, when the owner wants the longest warranty available, or when the brief is simply "the best you fit". Below are the numbers, with sources, and the honest answer to when a cheaper panel is the smarter buy.

MCS-certified solar PV installer (NIC-600049) · We install across Birmingham, the Black Country, Worcestershire and Staffordshire from our base in Oldbury, and regularly travel 30 to 40 miles, Telford, Coventry, Shrewsbury and Stafford included. If you are on the edge of that, just ask.

Aiko Neostar in short

  • Power: Neostar 2P54 mono-glass modules run 450 W to 485 W; the 2P+ 54 dual-glass version 455 W to 475 W.
  • Efficiency: up to 24.3%, using n-type ABC cells: all the contacts sit on the back, so there are no front busbars shading the cell.
  • Warranty: 15 years on the product and 30 years on performance, with at least 88.8% of rated output guaranteed at year 30.
  • Degradation: no more than 1% in year one and 0.35% a year after that; the published median across the industry is 0.5% a year.
  • Who fits them: Green Tech Hub, MCS-certified, across Birmingham, the Black Country, Worcestershire and Staffordshire; we also fit JA Solar and Eurener and quote whichever suits the roof.
  • Price: on your quote, with the alternative shown beside it; home solar installation is 0% VAT to 31 March 2027.

Why our engineers rate it

More watts from the same roof, for longer.

A conventional panel has thin metal busbars running across the front of every cell to collect the current. They work, but they sit between the sun and the silicon. Aiko's ABC design, all back contact, moves every contact to the rear of the cell, so the whole front face is working surface. That is where the 24.3% figure comes from, and on a roof it means a 450 W-plus panel in the footprint where a standard panel gives you noticeably less.

The warranty is the other reason. Thirty years of guaranteed performance with a 0.35% annual degradation limit is a long way beyond the industry median of 0.5% a year in the Jordan and Kurtz review of nearly 2,000 published degradation rates. For a homeowner that is the difference between a system still producing 88.8% of its rated output at year 30 and one closer to 86%; small per year, meaningful over the life of a roof.

We are honest about the trade. On a large, clear roof a less expensive panel can reach the same system size, and the premium may be better spent on storage. We fit JA Solar and Eurener too, and the quote shows both ways.

What a 4 kWp roof yields where you live

Nine Neostar panels is 4.05 kWp. Here is what that makes.

Modelled by the European Commission's PVGIS 5.3 tool for a 4 kWp south-facing array at 35 degrees with 14% system losses, a long-term average for an unshaded roof. Your roof's orientation, pitch and shading move the figure; the survey models your actual roof.

Source: European Commission JRC, PVGIS 5.3 (SARAH3), re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en/. A G98 connection covers up to 16 A, which is 3.68 kW, per phase and is notified to the network operator after installation; anything larger needs a G99 application before work starts.
